Short answer: Charles has no pricing page, so you find out what you’ll pay after a sales call, and the term arrives with the contract. Brands tell us Meta’s fees and overage come on top, and that terms run a year or longer. Its AI works on chat only, so your email still needs a second tool. With us, the price is on our site before you call: from €249 a month, Meta’s fees included, monthly or annual. A person from our team sets you up and works on your first campaigns with you, and Atlas plans WhatsApp and email in the same flow.

What Charles costs, and when you find out

Charles’s homepage offers “Book a demo” and “Talk to sales”, with no published plans. Its Shopify listing says “Free to install”, then “this app does have additional charges”, and “All charges are billed in USD.” One merchant on the Shopify App Store wrote that it was too expensive and the contract too long: “contratto troppo lungo (1 anno) non puoi recedere prima” (a one-year contract, and you can’t cancel early).

With us, the price is on our pricing page before you book anything: €249 a month, or €199 billed annually. It includes WhatsApp, 1,000 outbound messages, 1,000 AI and team replies, 1,000 free operator replies, Meta’s fees and the team. Each extra outbound message is €0.12, Meta’s fee included. Site chat and the voice agent are +€100 a month each, and for email you talk to us. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial.

Email and WhatsApp, planned as one

Charles’s AI, cowork, builds the automations you describe and suggests new ones: “cowork proposes, you approve.” It works on WhatsApp, RCS, webchat, Instagram and Messenger. Email isn’t on that list, so your newsletters and email flows stay in Klaviyo, Emarsys or Braze, with their own plan and their own bill.

With us, one plan covers both. Atlas reads your orders, your customers and what sold before, then puts a campaign in front of you: who gets it (say, no order in 40 days), what it says, when it goes and what it should bring in. You change anything you like and approve. Nothing is sent until you do. If someone ignores your email, a WhatsApp follows. If they leave their cart, WhatsApp goes first and the email after.

The help is written down too

Without published plans, nothing on Charles’s site says what help comes with it. Here is what every plan of ours includes, written down before you book:

  • A setup call. One of our team connects your WhatsApp number to Meta with you on a shared screen, through verification and display-name approval, then links Shopify and builds your first flows.

  • The move. Your contacts, consent records, templates and key flows come with you.

  • Your first campaigns. In the first weeks we often draft them for you, the way an agency would, and you approve them.

  • Answers from people. Email, WhatsApp or phone, in English, usually within a day.

The team comes up in half of our reviews on the Shopify App Store. hormoonskincare wrote: “They guided us step by step through the integration and within a few days we were live with WhatsApp campaigns and automations.”

Built for ecommerce, not for every brand

Charles sells to stores, retail chains and carmakers from one platform. Its homepage files its customers under eCommerce, Retail and Automotive, with Volkswagen and BMW next to the fashion brands.

Ecommerce is all we do, and the people who help you know it. Orders, products, customers and consent sync from Shopify on their own, so your segments are built on what’s really in your store. A WhatsApp shows the exact products someone left, with a pre-filled checkout link, and you see revenue for every campaign, flow and contact.

What brands tell us when they leave Charles

Four things come up again and again:

  • “We didn’t know what we’d pay.” A fixed fee, then Meta’s fees, then overage, and bills that grew faster than they could follow.

  • “We were locked in.” Annual and two-year contracts, with an early exit they had to negotiate.

  • “Our segments didn’t match Shopify.” Buyers weren’t recognised, so campaigns went to the whole list instead of the right group.

  • “We paid for two tools.” Charles for WhatsApp, an email tool next to it, and two bills every month.

Moving from Charles

Book a demo and see what Atlas would plan for your store. Then a person from our team does the move with you: your WhatsApp number connects to Meta in a few steps, your contacts, consent records and templates come with you, your key flows are rebuilt, and your email lists import from Klaviyo, HubSpot, Brevo or ActiveCampaign (integrations).

You pick the day. Many brands time it for the end of their Charles contract.

FAQ

How much does Charles cost?

Charles doesn't publish prices. Its site offers a demo and a sales call, and its Shopify listing says "this app does have additional charges", billed in USD. Ours is on our site: €249 a month, or €199 billed annually, with Meta's fees and the team included.

What support do I get with TextYess?

A person from our team sets you up and moves you over, we work on your first campaigns with you, and real people answer by email, WhatsApp or phone, usually within 24 hours. It's all in the plan.

Charles's AI proposes campaigns too. What's different?

Both wait for your approval. Charles's cowork works on chat channels, and email isn't one of them. Atlas plans email and WhatsApp in the same flow from your Shopify data, and the price is on our site.

Can I leave Charles before my contract ends?

Check the exit clause first: brands tell us Charles terms run one or two years, with an early exit to negotiate. Most plan the move for the end of the term, and our team gets everything ready for the day you choose.
