Sale launch WhatsApp templates that sell

Sale launch WhatsApp templates from real messages. The last-day reminder often beats the launch, and a code converts 1.6x as well for the same brand.

A sale launch message tells customers your sale has started, and a second one tells them it is about to end. On TextYess the median brand’s sale campaign is followed by orders within 48 hours from 0.60% of delivered messages, close to the 0.65% of campaigns overall: announcing a sale is not enough on its own. What lifts it is a code, a clear deadline and a last-day reminder.

What works, from the messages brands send on TextYess

  • The last-day reminder often beats the launch. In several brands, the “only until tomorrow” message to people who saw the launch sells more than the launch itself. A beauty brand’s last-day reminder of 30% off everything brings orders from 13.9% of delivered messages.

  • Give a code, and a button to copy it. For the same brand in the same month, campaigns with a discount code convert 1.6 times as well as those without, and campaigns with a copy-code button 1.5 times.

  • A real deadline helps. Wording such as “only until tomorrow” or “ends at midnight” converts 1.2 times as well, for the same brand in the same month.

  • A flat discount with a reason beats “up to”. “30% off everything” with “we rarely discount this much” works better than a promise of “up to 70% off”. Free shipping as the main offer is weaker than a % or a code (0.90 times).

  • “Saved just for you” works for sales too. Early-access and “reserved” wording converts 1.24 times as well. A rug brand that writes “you had your eye on our rugs, so we saved something just for you” gets orders from 3.4% of delivered messages.

When to send it

Send the launch on the morning the sale opens, to customers who have bought before or opted in to offers, and send the last-day reminder the day before it ends. Only state free delivery or a returns period that your shop really offers. With TextYess you choose the segment from your Shopify data and schedule both messages when you set up the sale.

Meta category

Sale messages are marketing: they promote prices and codes. A sale code added to an order or shipping message turns that message into marketing too. See Meta’s template categorisation.

Avoid rejection

  • Don’t start or end the body with a variable. Each template here closes with fixed words.

  • Keep % in the fixed text (“{{discount}}% off”) and use plain variable names: Meta rejects special characters such as #, $ or % inside the braces.

  • Don’t promise what isn’t true: a “last day” that gets extended, or “up to” on products that aren’t discounted.

  • One copy-code button per template, example code up to 20 characters. Footer up to 60 characters and button labels up to 25.

  • Rules: Meta’s template review.

FAQ

How do I announce a sale on WhatsApp?

Send one flat discount, a code with a copy-code button and a clear deadline, to customers who have bought before. Then send a last-day reminder.

Should I send a reminder before the sale ends?

Yes. In several brands the last-day reminder sells more than the launch. The best one we see brings orders from 13.9% of delivered messages.

Is "up to 70% off" a good hook?

Usually not. A flat discount on everything with a reason works better than an "up to" promise.

Is a sale launch message marketing or utility?

Marketing. It promotes prices and codes.
