A replenishment reminder tells a customer that the product they bought is about to run out, and makes reordering one tap. Only a few brands on TextYess send one, and at the median brand it is followed by an order within 48 hours from 1.9% of delivered messages.

What works, from the messages brands send on TextYess

  • Name the product and do the maths. A hair-loss serum brand writes 30 days after a single order: “with the recommended daily use it lasts about a month”, then suggests the 2-bottle kit, with no discount. It brings an order from 3.8% of 420 delivered messages.

  • Send it when the product should run out. The best reminders are timed to the product’s usage, not to a fixed calendar.

  • For fashion basics, suggest new pieces in their size. A fashion brand’s AI-written message names the polo shirts the customer bought about three weeks earlier, the size and the colours, and says new arrivals have been picked for them: an order from 2.3% of 10,289 delivered messages.

1. The usage maths, plus a bigger pack

Use it for anything with a predictable use-up time: serums, supplements, coffee, pet food. It follows the serum brand’s message: a named sender, the product, how long it lasts, and a bigger pack with a better price per use.

Message

Hi {{first_name}}, it’s Emma from {{brand}}! 👋

You’re probably nearly through the {{product_name}} you ordered: with daily use it lasts about {{usage_period}}, so now’s a good time to restock 😊

So you never run out, we suggest the {{bundle_name}}: it lasts twice as long and works out better value.

Any questions about how to use it? Just reply here.

  • Header: none

  • Buttons: URL “Restock now”

  • Example values: {{first_name}} = Sophie, {{brand}} = Casa Lino, {{product_name}} = 5 ml hair serum, {{usage_period}} = a month, {{bundle_name}} = 2-bottle kit

2. Time to stock up, with a code

Use it when you want a reason to reorder today. A diet food brand sends this with 10% off: an order from 2.9% of 1,246 delivered messages. Keep “for a short time” only if the code really expires.

Message

Hey {{first_name}}! 👋
It’s been a little while since your last order… maybe it’s *time to stock up*? 💪

We’ve saved you *{{discount}} off* your next order: use the code *{{discount_code}}* at checkout 🚀
*Only until {{deadline}}* ⏳ Don’t run out of your favourites!

  • Header: none

  • Buttons: URL “Reorder now”, Copy code (copies {{discount_code}})

  • Example values: {{first_name}} = Sophie, {{discount}} = 10%, {{discount_code}} = RESTOCK10, {{deadline}} = Sunday

3. “About to run out?”, no discount

Use it for customers who already reorder regularly. A pet food brand names the product and when it was bought, then says “if you’re about to run out of your favourite kibble, we’d be glad to see you back”: an order from 3.5% of 1,986 delivered messages.

Message

Hi {{first_name}}, your {{product_name}} from {{brand}} should be running low by now 🐾

To make sure you don’t run out, you can reorder the same thing in one tap from the button below.
Thanks for sticking with us!

  • Header: none

  • Buttons: URL “Order the same again”

  • Example values: {{first_name}} = Sophie, {{product_name}} = Grain-free dog food 12 kg, {{brand}} = Casa Lino

4. New pieces in your size

For clothing basics people replace or add to. It follows the fashion brand’s AI-written message: what they bought, their size, and a selection picked for them.

Message

Hi {{first_name}}, thanks for choosing {{brand}} again.
About three weeks ago you picked {{product_name}} in size {{size}}.

New pieces in your style and size have just arrived, and we’ve already picked a few for you. We think you’ll like them!

  • Header: none

  • Buttons: URL “See the selection”

  • Example values: {{first_name}} = Sophie, {{brand}} = Casa Lino, {{product_name}} = two piqué polo shirts, {{size}} = L

When to send it

Send it shortly before the product should run out: about 30 days after the order for a one-month product, around three weeks for clothing basics. Work out the usage period for each product, and skip customers who have already reordered. With TextYess it goes out automatically a set number of days after each Shopify order, so you can match the delay to how long the product lasts.

Meta category

Marketing. Inviting someone to buy again is promotional, even when you only name the product and give no discount. See Meta’s template categorisation.

Avoid rejection

  • Don’t start or end the body with a variable. Template 1 ends with “Just reply here.”, not with the product name.

  • Keep enough fixed words around the variables. Template 1 has five, so each one sits inside a full sentence.

  • Only one copy-code button per template, and button labels up to 25 characters.

  • Give a sample value for every variable. Mismatched braces and missing samples are common rejection reasons. See Meta’s template review rules.

FAQ

When should I send a replenishment reminder?

Shortly before the product should run out. A serum brand that sends 30 days after a one-month bottle, and a fashion brand that sends about three weeks after an order, both do well.

Do I need a discount to get people to reorder?

No. The best reminder in our data, from a hair serum brand, has no discount: it explains how long the bottle lasts and suggests a bigger kit.

What's the difference between a replenishment reminder and a win-back?

A replenishment reminder is timed to when a specific product runs out. A win-back goes to customers who haven't ordered again, whatever they bought.

Can I send it automatically?

Yes. With TextYess it goes out a set number of days after each Shopify order. Set the delay to the product's usage period.
